There was a Civil War re-enactment on the Island, June 30th, 2012. I counted 6 Union and 3 Rebel troops. That was just about the proper proportion. They seemed to get along quite well and shared some delicious bread with each other and us California foreigners. Sometime after 1:30 pm they shot some cannon balls toward Sausalito. These artillery shells sunk harmlessly into the bay water and no Rebel nor Union folk appeared to have been harmed. Later, all came together and had, what looked like authentic southern food, in one of the old buildings...
